The South African "wine pope" Platter awards this wine from La Motte's little sister winery solid 3 1/2 stars for the 2019 vintage and characterizes it as "mocha tuned fruitiness & ease on pliable". Lush fruit aromas of plums and blackberries as well as notes of liquorice, violets, cloves and coriander with a delicately tart acidity and unobtrusive tannins will activate the taste buds on your palate.

About the winery

The Leopard's Leap winery focuses on sustainability and has made a name for itself in Franschhoek as the "little sister" of the well-known La Motte estate. As a self-proclaimed "family winery", in addition to excellent classics such as Shiraz, Pinot Noir or Chenin Blanc, they also explicitly focus on high-quality alcohol-free wines.

An excellent, dry red wine that goes perfectly with meat dishes, game, stews - but also with pasta or a hearty cheese platter.
